Described as one of the most impressive homes of its time, the building overlooks Ringabella Creek, it remains an imposing building, despite it being a derelict site now.

Originally, a residence of the Daunt family, it passed by marriage to the Stoughton family, and held links with Gloucestershire in England and Ballyduff in North Kerry.

Occupied at various intervals by huntsmen, generals, landlords and farmers, the history of this great house mirrors the history of the country.

Anyone familiar with Fergal’s comprehensive work on Ballymartle House, Pallastown House and Cramer’s Court, to name but a few, will certainly be in for a treat.

Secretary of Kinsale Cultural and Heritage Society, despite pursuing a career as an accountant and working with the Kerry Group in County Kildare, Fergal’s heart has remained faithful to his love of history of the South County.

Tickets for the upcoming event are ten euro and can be purchased online at the Tracton.org website or should be available on the door.
