The Gallipoli Campaign, A Lost Opportunity of the Great War

April 25, 2024 @ 8:00 pm

On Thursday next, April 25th at 8pm, Padraig Walsh presents a lecture on The Gallipoli Campaign at the Temperance Hall, Kinsale. Hosted by Kinsale Cultural and Heritage Society, Padraig is set to tell the story of another lost opportunity on the ancient hills of the Dardanelles in 1915 to put an end to the Great War and all its horror. Having always had a particular interest in this military campaign, Padraig has also acquired a fantastic selection of photographs to go with the presentation, Of course, it should not be forgotten that many Irishmen were killed on the slopes of Gallipoli, particularly the men of the Munster Fusiliers, who were mown down as they disembarked from the transport ship The Clyde onto V beach.
